History

Founded in 1944 with the name CRINOS Industria Farmacobiologica.
Dedicated to API extraction from biological sources, R&D, drug product Manufacturing, Commercialization of his own brand Portfolio (ethic and dermatologic).
Main important drugs were related to three therapeutic areas: Vascular, Cardiology and Gastroenterology.
On December 2000, the API extraction and R&D activities were restructured into a new Company called GENTIUM.
On June 2002, the ethic brand Portfolio, the Commercial organization and the trade mark “CRINOS” were sold to the STADA Group and the Company changed its name into Sirton Pharmaceuticals
On December 2004, the dermatologic brand Portfolio and the Commercial organization have been separated and allocated to the new Company MEDICARE SpA.
On January 2011, the business and assets was acquired by First Shanghai Group, a Company based in Hong Kong.
On December 31, 2014 Sirton Pharmaceuticals SpA was acquired by 3SBio Group, a primary Chinese biotechnology company.
